My Story

• I was born in Vegas on March 31, 1965.  My dad was a Musical Artist/Entertainer so I guess you can say the music was in my blood.  I grew up to be a very talented musician and vocalist ..... at the age of 12, I was taking my dirt bike for one last ride before leaving for the Fiddle Playing National Championship Contest in Tennesse. Unfortunately, I never made it because I had a head on collision with a CPS Truck that put me in a body cast for 8 weeks.
• Pins and plates later I formed my own band.  As lead singer we hit the road in the late 70's early 80's traveling all over the US, opening up for George Strait, Alabama, Charlie Pride ... just to name a few.  I was offered the lead violinist position in a band, I turned it down because I didn't want to be behind a female singer .. we know her today as Shania Twain!! 
• In the late 80's I turned from the music to the cars. Building street rods. Souping up trucks. Military Drive in San Antonio was a very popular place to hang out with your ride back then!!!  My brother Dino and I had the tallest trucks in the state. 
• In the early 90's the toys got old and with my sister Donna in Rodeo my interest was directed to the horses.  My first horse was a two year old mare name Nyla.  She turned out to be a top notch Open horse and opened my eyes to a whole new world of training horses.  I trained many.   My own and for others.  Had success in the Futurities.  I was part of a barrel racing association here in South Texas called Bluebonnet Barrel Racing Association.  I became President of BBRA and in 2007 and 2008 we went above and beyond the standards. Goals were set and records were broken. I had an amazing time!!  
• God has blessed me with many talents but the one with the horses has helped build a reputation that's respected all over Texas but he has also challenged me. 
• On September 13th, 2009 I was airlifted to the University Hospital in San Antonio.  I was involved in a horse related accident that has forever changed my life.  As a result of that accident I had swelling and bleeding on the left side of the brain which paralyzed my whole right side of my body.  I suffered from seizures which were sort of controlled by medication.  While in the hospital I had to re-train the left brain to communicate with the right side of my body.  The doctor's told me I wouldn't walk again, much less ride.
• Fast forward to today . . . It's God's plan for me to be here.  My story isn't done yet .......  the horses are my passion, I love teaching them and seeing success from it, so here's to one more shot !!
